Album of the Week: Emeka Must Shine by Blaqbonez, 2023
February 9th, 2026
Remains my favorite Blaqbonez album of all time. Before the rap beef and the diss tracks, Emeka Must Shine was Blaqbonez’s defining album, in a way shaped his sound to what it is now. It’s not a pioneering album in terms of sound, but it definitely solidified him in the industry as a serious artist who can do other things than make TikToks and straight rapping. Favorite songs are Kilo, Naija Shawty and Cinderella Girl.

Film of the Week: The Apprentice by Ali Abbasi, 2024
January 23rd, 2026
The Apprentice is a biopic of one of the most funky leaders of the USA, and I think it is a perfect dramatization of him as a person. It is a cold and deeply unsettling watch about a man slowly but surely losing his morality in real time.

Definitely not a comfort watch, but a great watch overall. 7/10.
