Pressing you to his chest to shield you from the rain, the young man closes his oil-paper umbrella and effortlessly leaps up onto the wall.
And then he keeps moving.
From wall to roof, roof to balcony, he crosses the estate with startling speed and agility, never seeming to lose his balance or even break stride. He slips past guards and servants alike with such ease that it almost seems as though he knows exactly where they will be before they even turn.
Hm.
So, he's either a very experienced robber who likes robbing this place a lot, or maybe he's the runaway young master of the house...
You mull over these two options, and eventually decide you prefer the latter. It would be nice to stick with a rich young master and not be shot for the crime of breaking in.
In a short while, you've reached the outside of what seems to be an office. One of the windows is just barely cracked open, letting the golden light spill out of the office to create a golden path .
You try to rotate around to get a better look, but the young man tucks you into his sleeve before making one final jump to land near-soundlessly on the windowsill.
??: Fo-ye.
Although you can't see the look on the young man's face, you can hear the deep fondness in his tone; the previous confidence edged with dry amusement melting away into a soft warmth.
??: I'm back. Did you miss me?
The sound of a fountain pen on paper stops, and you hear a steady voice sound from somewhere in front of the young man.
Fo-ye: I miss the antiques that used to be in front of this window a bit more.
The young man gasps in mock offence, before moving; you can't see what he's doing, but you assume he's entering the office fully to stand.
??: Ahhh, Fo-ye!! That really wasn't my fault that time. I thought you'd left the window open for me!
Fo-ye: Yes, I did. The other window.
??: Well, I paid you back for those antiques anyways...don't you treasure me more than some vases?
The material of the rope dart wrapped around the young man's wrist scrapes against your body unpleasantly as he moves, and you squirm a little to try and avoid it.
With just that one little movement, whatever the person called Fo-ye had been saying stops immediately, leaving the room in awkward silence.
Fo-ye: ...
??: ...
