I haven't successfully done any longer-form blogging in ages. The last time was probably ten or fifteen years ago at this point. I don't even really know anything about Leaflet, I just kinda stumbled upon this service, saw it described as a Nazi-free alternative to things like Substack, with the ability to plug more or less directly into one's Bluesky.
In the very unlikely event that this...
A) Turns into something I make regular use of
and
B) Eventually gets people looking at it who don't know me from otherwheres
I'm matara (it's spelled with a lower-case "m"; you can also call me "matty" if you wish—that one's spelled with a lower and upper-case "M" sorta interchangeably). I make games (occasionally) and talk about games (more frequently). Most especially, I make and talk about tabletop roleplaying games, which I prefer to abbreviate "TRPG".
I've made some of my own games, and I've worked on some other people's games. Some of my games are even good. (All of the other people's games I worked on are good, axiomatically, as is true for all contractors.)
I have famously bad taste—bacon sucks, Dark Souls II is the best Dark Souls game, and 4th Edition is the only edition of Dungeons & Dragons that's actually a game. If you have a need to argue about things like this I implore you to do so somewhere else, with someone else, because you are wrong.
I think that'll do for introductions. That's the boring shit.
If I find a use for this place, it'll be for the sicko stuff I don't feel like squeezing into a half-dozen bskytweets, laboriously trimming down the character limit. I may end up using it for proper full-scale blogging if I decide that's appropriate, or maybe I'll use it for game design ruminations. We'll see.
