I've been trying to improve in streaming and my physical health.
I am attempting to learn Da Vinci Resolve so I can edit clips and eventually longer videos. Looking at Da Vinci Resolve when you know nothing about it is like watching a movie involving an airplane and they enter the cockpit. There are a ton of buttons, switches, and controls, yet most of what you may see in fiction is a couple of switches getting flipped and the pilot steering the plane.
As for my physical health, I've not only been going to the gym, I've been working out with my brother once a week with a Crossfit plan he found online he's doing for 6 weeks. Last week was a lot more tiring than my usual workouts, but I had no problems despite each section being encouraged for time, which means doing it as fast as you can. Today, the workout involved box steps. I have never done box steps, and I ended up hurting my knee, ending the workout early.
Failure when trying to work hard is one of the worst feelings in the world. When it comes to streaming, you need to get more than posts and streams out there, and even slightly edited clips can help not only with reach, but doing them myself would make the effort more my own. I'm not disparaging any editors with commissions or anyone I asked for advice, I applaud you, I wanted to put more effort forward and save money. The workout failure feels a lot worse because even moving around normally is hell even though it's not bad enough to see a doctor.
I just get antsy when I feel prevented from doing things because I wanted to feel like I'm succeeding faster after seeing people lose a lot of weight in a year or seeing one of my favorite streamers have enough followers, friends, deals, etc. to make a living while having an awesome community.
I'm sure any response people would come up for this is to take my time because everyone advances differently. I just feel like the gap between everyone reaching similar goals to me (just with bigger numbers or varying difficulty in exercise plans) is getting way too wide and it's getting harder with having a full time job and getting older.
Despite all this, even if the best time to work at these goals would have been years ago, the second best time is right now. No matter what, keep trying.
