One of the tricks that I've learned over the years is that if you're working in someone else's repo, git can be kind of annoying. Not in a bad way, but in a way where, for instance, maybe you want to keep a notes file so that you can keep track of your notes within the repo without having to pester or bother the maintainers of the repo to add your notes.md file to their .gitignore. Well, it turns out that there's a solution for that, and it's pretty damn simple: That's the setup.
That's Today You Learnt instead of Today I Learned, enjoy!
neat docker trick I just learned: will pull the image by default, but build to a specific target if --build is passed or docker compose build so you can use target to stop at different places in one build context if you have like a web container, a queue container, etc.

A short piece I wrote a while back on MCAS and the medical system failing you.

There's that question of "do people feel your absence in a room?" which can be a hard one to answer.
Yesterday wasn't a good day. It was very far from a good day, I was in the midst of something of a continuous anxiety attack that had started the night before. I ended up writing this post on Bluesky shortly before passing out asleep for the rest of the day:
A short note on creating space for, and focusing on, the things that you can change.
