Digitalt oberoende – sociala medier
De största sociala medierna ägs av storföretag som hör hemma i USA. Det är företag som Meta Platforms som äger Facebok, Threads och Instagram samt Google med Youtube och Google Books. Vidare Microsoft som äger LinkedIn, Amazon som äger Goodreads och Twitch, Snap Inc med Snapchat, Reddit Inc med Reddit och X Corp med X plus några till.
Fediversum – ett nätverk av gemenskaper
På X, Threads eller Facebook är plattformen också platsen. Det finns en enda server att ansluta sig till. Så när Fediversum radar upp flera hundra alternativ med olika programvaror och servrar innan en person ens registrerat sig upplevs det som krångligt och besvärligt. Tänk om en gör fel val.
