Als Erweiterung seiner gleichnamigen Webserie präsentiert Kane Parsons mit Backrooms einen so originellen wie ungewöhnlichen Psychothriller, der sich durch seine Atmosphäre auszeichnet, anstatt auf sichtbaren Horror zu setzen. Das ist faszinierend und sehenswert, selbst wenn dem Finale die Wucht fehlt, die man sich erhoffen würde und eine Erklärung, die lediglich angedeutet wird, aber trotzdem ausbleibt.
