Calculators - again?

The comparison between the use of calculators and GenAI has been made countless times since the public advent of GenAI and AI chatbots, but it is a comparison I believe is quite flawed. This is a slightly updated response to a post by Chris Goodall (Head of Digital Education and AI) on LinkedIn a while back, where he likened Generative AI to the calculator.
