Att Bluesky tappar aktiva användare och användare som bland annat Techcrunch skrivit om är inget märkligt utan ganska naturligt. När ett socialt medienätverk eller programvara som Bluesky/ATmosphere eller Mastodon/Fediversum expanderar kraftigt så är registreras all nya användare som aktiva användare.

"Bluesky" can mean at least four different things depending on the context. What do we mean exactly?

Det finns en bit över 3 000 så kallade PDS:er som använder AT-protokollet som Bluesky bygger på. Den överlägset största är Bluesky som har cirka 91% av alla användare. Totalt finns det cirka 45 miljoner användare. Näst störst är Bridgy-Fed och därefter följer de euopeiska Eurosky och W Social. Bridgy-Fed är Mastodonkonton (ActivityPub) som gjort sig tillgängliga för användare av AT-protokollet.

W Social är ett socialt medium som använder sig av AT-protokollet. Sajten ägs av det svenska företaget W Social AB och för att få ett konto måste användarna legtimera sig med ett godkänt ID.

liste von ein paar ATmosphere apps und diensten die ich nutze oder interessant finde.
AT-protokollet i Europa
De flesta europeiska användare i ATmosphere finns på Blueskys PDS:er i USA. Det finns dock ett par mycket omskrivna europeiska satsningar på att bygga upp PDS:er för AT-protokollet. Dessa använder dock Blueskys servrar för all annan funktionalitet (relä, verifiering med mera) så i praktiken är även de europeiska PDS:erna helt beroende av US-amerikanska servrar.

So… nachdem ich nun herausgefunden habe, wie das geht, habe ich jetzt ALLE Beiträge mit dem ATmosphere Plugin von @matthias@pfefferle.org & Automattic nach Eurosky bzw. Bluesky gespiegelt. 🤗 bsky.app/profile/mapf.net

Ich teste das Plugin zur Zeit auch. Bisher gefällt es mir ganz gut. Ich finde die Lösung, dass der eigene Server nicht den Stream stellen muss ganz gut gelöst. Und das es ein @pfefferle@notiz.blog Produkt ist, macht es gleich noch sympathischer. 😃
