Next VAAC Friday Meeting on July 31: Official Launch of the Michigan Jail Voting Guide

On July 31st, the next statewide VAAC Friday Community meeting will officially launch the Michigan Jail Voting Guide, a new resource to help communities understand the voting process for eligible voters detained in local jails. Amelia Armstrong from the Prisoners’ Legal Advocacy Network will discuss how the guide can support clerks, jail administrators, legal advocates, community organizations, and others working to share accurate voting information across Michigan.

Next Statewide Jail Voting Workgroup on Thursday, July 16

VAAC’s Statewide Jail Voting Workgroup continues coordinating efforts across Michigan to expand voting access for eligible voters detained in county jails. The work includes strengthening county relationships, improving communication systems, supporting vote-by-mail access, and preparing statewide coordination efforts ahead of the upcoming election cycle. The next workgroup meeting takes place this Thursday, July 16.

Voting Access for All Coalition is joining Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, Jews for a Secular Democracy, and Affirmations Community Center for a free ID clinic in Ferndale on Tuesday, July 7. Community members can come to Affirmations Community Center to get help accessing the ID they need to vote, work, travel, open a bank account, access benefits, and more.
