Yes yes yes! We have access to incredibly compelling affordances within the atmosphere but are still figuring out how to leverage them. As we do it will become the competitive advantage against incumbent platforms. 

@internet.bsky.social I have thoughts on how to make this more salient. There’s plenty of precedent in other accounts to have ‘backup codes’ one should keep in a safe place to recover their account. I would suggest marking in settings that account setup is “incomplete” if they have not set their rotation key (and probably don’t even call it that to the user. Call it an authorization code or a backup code) and then in app let them set the code and encourage them to save it somewhere else. I don’t remember what service it was but I recently went thru a flow like this where after the screen with the code has passed it asks you to paste the code in again to prove that you saved it somewhere you can copy it again. Smart! 

All that to say, a nudge via red dot over settings that doesn’t go away til you do this is good. Just like the app bugs you to verify your email.

Blacksky is addressing this head on. They are community funded. Everything is open source. You can see exactly who is contributing, and talk to them. They’re all nice people! Commons funding and relationships are def different from the customer-provider relationships we are more used to. The Bluesky team itself has been incredibly open and accessible for the kind of project they are building. It’s a valid concern for sure.

I would be down for tables. I wonder though, why not have a markdown block be the underlying layer for things like titles, breakers, and tables, since md supports all of those?
