иногда это странно
as far as i understand, this isn’t necessarily the “smallest size space” — it’s more that (1) at this point the abstraction breaks down because gravity has to be taken into account and we don’t have a model for that, and (2) it may be impossible to do measurements at this scale.
this doesn’t mean that the traditional quantum theory postulates that space is quantized (it doesn’t), or that some other model that quantizes space is correct (we don’t have a theory that works and is ready to replace both QM and GR). ah sure that’s fair. all of these are “update functions” too though, aren’t they? most of my article is spent on fields, and we do temperature/heat along the way. i imagine other aspects of thermodynamics and stuff are also describable with fields?
in general i use “update loop” as a programmer point of view stand-in for equations, which is how physics is generally described. i like update loop framing pedagogically because it forces you to explicitly declared what the free variables are and what’s being derived from them. even though you could swap it around and express differently. i also liked expressing integration and differentiation as loops like “for each moment for each point” because i think that explains more clearly what their role is and grounds them.
so to sum up i just find this notation a very neat way to form mental models around different parts of physics. not just newtonian motion. hmm, but these literally *are* newton's equations and maxwell's equations. which descriptions would you use otherwise? sure, for concrete calculations, you'd maybe want special cases that calculate cleanly.i'm testing leaflet comment system. ignore me
