i’ve been together with my partner for 6 years. we certainly have our ups and downs, but the one piece of advice that i’d share is that the way you say things matters. 

take the time to think about how what you’re saying may come across. think of a way to say what you mean and how you feel, without throwing blame. 

“when this happens, it makes me feel this way” instead of “i don’t like when you do x because it makes me feel y.” 

i need to get better at this myself. 😅
